The 370 SS with Axius setup continued to gain notice throughout the summer. Even Hot Boat Magazine’s June issue applauded the 370’s “performance-inspired, ventilated, V-bottomed, stepped-hull FAS3TECH technology.” And it was also noted that equipping the 370 with a pair of MerCruiser’s new 496 MAG HOs boasting 425 horsepower with Bravo Three sterndrives was “a pretty lively power choice.” While admiring the Super Sport’s speed and performance, the highlight of the Florida excursion proved to be the opportunity to experience Mercury’s new, “quite revolutionary,” Axius control system, observing that Formula “has been at the forefront of its development curve.” Reacting to joystick control…“the power this little joystick possesses cannot be over-emphasized…!” “What you can do with Axius…it takes all the stress out of docking.” Hot Boat’s final take was, “Without Axius, Formula’s 370 SS is the epitome of luxury and performance; no one in the industry out-classes this package. With Axius, however, the best just got that much better.”
