Formula and Sun Sport Marine Sponsor the '08 Formula Boat—St. Clair River Classic

The 7th annual St. Clair River Classic was sponsored yet again by Formula Boats and Sun Sport Marine, Formula Harrison Township, MI, dealer. The event draws more than 30,000 spectators to the small city of St. Clair, MI, and according to city officials, remains the largest event in the city.

Beautiful clear skies and hot temperatures greeted the largest fleet this season of over 60 registered entrants. On Sunday, July 27, the race boats were ready to go, along with three Formulas lined up to be the official pace boats for the race. Sun Sport Marine’s 2009 353 FAS3TECH® in Stealth lime green, Glen Williams' 382 Poker Run Edition and Formula's 2009 382 Pace Boat in Platinum Terminal Velocity graphics, equipped with Mercury Racing's 700SCi engines and NXT1 outdrives, were all set.

Sun Sport Marine had a wonderful display of new Formulas along with the attention grabbing U-1 National Champion unlimited hydroplane. We welcomed race fans and Formula owners to the hospitality area and tent along the boardwalk—the best view along the river for the event.

We would like to thank the loyal and supportive fans of the St. Clair area for their warm welcome. The entire staff of the Blue Water Offshore Racing Association, as well as the OPA, are to be congratulated for a job well done, wrapping up a great weekend of close racing action.
